WebElsewhere, deregulation of these markets began later and has generally been more limited. In Europe, the most important steps have been taken in the United Kingdom. Deregulation of long-distance bus transport, implemented in 1980, has been followed by a number of partial deregulation actions associated with a wide- ranging privatisation process.
